The People
Rachel Stubbs - General Manager
Rachel started in the industry at just 15 where she worked part time at The Chester Grosvenor Hotel. Much to her father's disgust she opted not to go to uni but start a full time career in catering! Rachel is a local lass and very well known around Parkgate (also known to be fond of the occasional white wine!!)
Graham Robertson - Head Chef
Looking after the busy Boat House kitchen is Graham Robertson, who was one of our first chefs as we started Woodward Pub Co Ltd in 2001.Graham has been with us ever since, starting at The Goshawk before setting up our kitchen at The Golden Lion and in 2006 a move to The Boat House. Graham worked in his family business before moving to The Chester Grosvenor. Graham has also proved to be a valuable member of our in house kitchen training team
Steve Kleinhorn - Assistant Manager
Local lad AKA "SLEEPO", not sure where it came from!! Joined the company straight from finishing A- Levels just down the road at Mostyn House School and now just cant seem to stay away. He will be often found at the bar on a Friday night from 4pm onwards followed nicely by a curry down the road. Or up a mountain in
Wales in his Landrover helping groups of kids get their Duke of Edinburgh awards for fun!!
Daniel Openshaw
Dan is the newest member of the management team,
arriving here from running a restaurant in a Boutique Hotel. He is an energetic,
happy go lucky team player who loves the hospitality industry. With 7 years
experience and family who introduced him to it at a very early age Dan is
motivated by meeting new and interesting people and is excited about the
opportunity that has arisen at the Boathouse with its superb atmosphere, great
team and most importantly its friendly customers. What ever you do don't ask
him how his trial shift went!
Stephen Marr
Steven Marr - Otherwise known as "Mini". He joined
the management team in April 2010 following a successful 3 years at a national
pub company. He brings to the Boat his experience with a friendly happy attitude. Mini has grown into his role and loves all aspects of the job (especially making
lists for the staff at the end on the night - they love him!!) He is often
seen running the local streets as he quite often goes for 15 mile runs just for
fun!!!!! But at least he puts his athletic ability to use on the Boathouse
floor always giving 100%
Rob Williams
A Neston lad Rob initially joined the Goshawk team from a selection of North West hotels.... much prefering the life of bars & beers to breakfasts & bathrooms!Rob fills the quieter bar days with his enthusiasm for a good match whether it be football or rugby but also loves the hustle & bustle of the busy weekends. Now in residence nearer home at Parkgate Rob can certainly get his teeth into the Boat House life.
